Komodo Island


Komodo island in the Komodo National Park area along with other islands in the vicinity of the Nusa Tenggara Islands. In 1986, UNESCO sets sights on Indonesia as one of the world heritage site. The island is considered to be the habitat of the komodo dragon beast that must be protected. One of the highest honors that successfully achieved was successfully entered into the ranks of the seven natural wonders of the world, or better known as the New Seven Wonders of Nature in 2011.

These sights offer the beauty of land and underwater nature is exceptional. There are many things you can do here, ranging from trekking, diving to snorkerling.

For trekking, you can explore the island group and a ranger or guided tours. On the way, you can find the komodo dragon who was hunting prey or rest. Ranger will equip you with a stick that ends the branching. This stick is believed to be weakening the komodo when it was attacked. By holding the neck of a rod tip of komodo branching, it immediately will be benign. It is important for You to keep any movement during walking because it is very sensitive to a sudden movement.

Diving and snorkeling in the waters of Komodo island is no less exciting. Tourism is also known by the natural beauty of its bottom and became one of the favourite dive sites. Interesting to mention is the existence of the Pink Beach or beach pink. This beach is one of the seven beaches in the world to have a reddish colored sand. This colour is thought to derive from the crushed coral flakes and mixed with the sand of the beach. When exposed to the waves, the red color more clearly visible because of the wet.
